They are taking over the Great Lakes. They were brought to the U.S as a food source.
Some how they were released into the wild.

The Asian Carp have also caused serious injuries that may have led to death.
They are native to some areas and some areas only.
If we do not move Asian Carp back to their natural habitat, they will become an animal or species of that area and be considered native and have some actual NATIVE fish become
extinct. They might even injure or kill more than 1,000 people. The asian carp have killed
maybe 15 people already but they may kill more but they have injured many people. The Asian Carp are only native to the areas including: Eurasia, Africa, and China
Asian carp prefer cool or moderate temperatures, like near the Great Lakes over hot temperatures. If Asian carp become established in Ontario waters, they could eat the food supply that native fish in that area need to survive. If this happens then the native species will be crowed out of there own habitat. There are four species types of Asian carp: Black, Grass, silver and Bighead carp. Silver carp and Bighead carp are the ones that spread most aggressively and might be one of the greatest threats to the Great Lakes.
