What happens to native fish and about releasing exotic fish and some consequences.
One of
the consequences
for releasing exotic fish is to get a ticket or MAYBE
even worse.
When exotic fish or under water animals kept as pets are found in the wild it
is hard to tell if they escaped or were released. However some people believe
that when their exotic pets get too difficult to manage, it is okay to release
them into the wild to fend for themselves. A couple of bad things can and
probably will happen if you release exotic fish into the wild. They might die, mate,
and/or multiply. These things are bad because they are not native to the area
they are released into the area that is what happened with the Asian Carp.
There was a goldfish found in Lake
Tahoe. If that goldfish produced offspring the goldfish would become like the
Asian Carp and there would be too many of them. The goldfishes would slowly eat
all the food the main food sources in that area. When they're done they won’t
be any of that type of food left. This can cause problems for the fish that
need this environment and food to survive. The fish in that area will probably
have to find another food source.
